Christopher and I actually met when we were in school although he was a couple of years above me. Chris’s sister was in my grade and it was her and I who became
best friends during our high school years. When we finished high school and we had our licences it was then that Chris and I began to see each other more often. We
became good friends with no real romantic connection. It wasn’t until I turned 21 that Chris decided that he had an attraction to me and a few months later we started
dating.

Right from the beginning Chris had said that if we made it to six months that he would put a ring on my finger, and so as the six month mark approached, I knew that
he was the one I was going to spend the rest of my life with. As the date drew nearer I kept reminding him don’t forget I’m getting a ring soon and he would just laugh it
off and say yeah yeah whatever, and then much to my surprise the day we had been together six months he met me whilst I was out shopping with his sister, Chris took me
to the jewellers and told me to pick the one I wanted, I had seen the one I wanted but I didn’t think it was in the budget but I tried it on anyway, it was perfect, he told me
to go outside knowing full well what he was doing, a few minutes later he comes out with a big smile and tells me not to get too excited saying just because he bought it doesn’t mean I’m getting it any time soon. Oh well I thought maybe he will give it to me
for my birthday in a couple of months. It turned out that I only had to wait three days
and on Sunday the 17th of June 2007 he took me down to Wollongong and after a walk along the beach at sunset he said he needed to ask me something and as I turned
around and he asked, (without getting down on his knee mind you) “will you marry me?” Of course I said yes. After ringing everyone, we came back up to Camden for dinner to celebrate.

My life changed from that moment on and every spare second I had was spent planning the Wedding. Within a week of being engaged we had the reception booked for November 22nd 2008 at Eschol Park House, then a couple of weeks later we had the Chapel booked, the Mater Dei Chapel at Cobbitty. So I thought we had no need to worry, we had booked and planned the most important things so we didn’t have to do anything till the New Year. The new year came and went, it wasn’t until February arrived that I thought I should start looking for a dress, with not much of an idea of what I wanted I started looking, the first shop I went into I was asked when was the Wedding I replied November and the lady said you have left it a bit late, “our dresses take six
months to come in”. I started to panic thinking that I wasn’t going to be able to find a dress. A few weeks later I found the dress I wanted and it could be delivered in time for the Wedding.

Then the list of things that we needed to book and make decisions on started to add up, we had to find a photographer, a cake, invitations, the boys suits, the bridesmaids dresses, the shoes, the jewellery, the flowers, the table decorations, the list was just never ending. We decided that our colour theme would be black and white with a little bit of pink. My bridesmaids and I spent a couple of weeks finding black and white dresses that they all liked, we found the one we wanted and then we discovered
that one of bridesmaids was pregnant so instead of buying the dresses we needed to find a dress maker instead so that we could have the dresses made. That was a little difficult but eventually we found a local dress maker who did a fabulous job with all the
dresses.

The Wedding was only weeks away and all the last minute things were finally starting to happen, my Dress came in, the Bridesmaid dresses were finished, shoes were found for everyone, the girls found the jewellery they wanted to wear, the RSVP’s were
coming in and the seating arrangement was coming together, Chris and I were excited that everything was going to plan.

The week leading up to the wedding we went to pick up the bonbonnieres’ and when we saw them they were wrong so then they had to be fixed, we had also left the bridal party presents to the last minute so we had to get them sorted out and everything needed to be taken to the reception by the Friday, I also needed to find time to have my hair, nails, and tan done as well.

When the Saturday morning finally arrived it began with a trip to the hairdressers at 5:30am. We arrived home to meet the make up artist and to have some lunch. The Photographer arrived at 1pm, the photos we had taken at home went so quickly, it is true that your Wedding Day goes by in a Flash!

After what seemed like 10 minutes Dad came in and said that the Cars had arrived.
When we got to the Chapel it was threatening to rain, thankfully the rain held off till we were inside the Chapel. My Bridesmaids walked in and followed by my Flower Girl and Page Boy, our Flower Girl got cold feet and ran off half way down the aisle, leaving my little brother, the Page Boy to continue on. Dad started to cry as he walked me down the aisle to Chris, who had a beautiful smile. The Ceremony went in a blur and we stepped
out of the Chapel as Husband and Wife.

The wind picked up during our photos followed by thunder and lightning, but luckily the worst was over by the time we reached our Reception. I was really looking forward to a
glass of Wine and enjoying myself. The Bridal Party walked into the Reception to different songs. Chris and I chose to be introduced to the Reception by walking in to Brooks and Dunn’s “Play Something Country”. Our first dance as a married couple was to Tim Macgraw’s “You’re My Best Friend”. All our guests loved the food, the speeches and the dancing. I danced with Dad, who sobbed through the whole song. After more tears, it was time to say goodbye to everyone, Chris and I couldn’t believe where the day went, we loved every moment of it.
