This is is not so much of a Macarthur Wedding, but a wedding of a well known Macarthur Wedding Industry identity by the name of Amy from Marions Photographics. Amy and her fiance Mark got married in Las Vegas, in a very special and sophisticated ceremony. This story has featured in a number of Wedding magazines and newspapers. Read on to find out about this special day.

We met at Marks brother’s wedding. I was the photographer and Mark was a groomsmen. This was 14th September 2002. After the wedding Mark got my number off his brother and we organized to meet for dinner.

We spoke many of times on the phone and went out for dinner, but our relationship really developed when Mark took me to the races at Rosehill for Melbourne Cup. We really connected this day. We both love to go to the races for a bet (Mark taught me to bet on one of our first dates!), we love bike riding (Harleys that is). What attracted us to each other though I think is our honesty. We are both very open people.

Mark proposed to me at the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris Casino at Las Vegas USA in November 2006. We love Vegas and this was our 2nd trip together there, so it was a perfect destination to get engaged! We spent the first half of the evening sitting in the Fontana Bar in the Bellagio Casino listening to a band and drinking wine whilst watching the famous Bellagio Fountains dance to the music. It was lovely. We then went to the Eiffel Tower to look at the view. You can see the whole of Vegas from the tower as well as the beautiful Bellagio fountains. We stood there for ages watching the fountains. It was very beautiful. Mark popped the question just as I thought we were going down to have dinner so it was really unexpected! I was very surprised and I cried! Mark had designed the ring himself without any of my knowledge. The ring was all that I wanted and more. My engagement ring is a yellow gold band with a single princess cut diamond set in a platinum claw setting.

We got married on the 4th November 2008, on the Terrazza overlooking the fountains at Bellagio Casino, Las Vegas USA. It was set on this date to coincide with one of our first dates at Melbourne Cup Day. Our theme for the day was Vintage French provincial to match in with both the Bellagio and Paris Casino that we spent our time at before we got engaged.

Our reception was just below where we got married at Bellagio, we hired the whole outside patio of the famous Primesteakhouse Restaurant. We watched the fountains dance to music all night.

26 of our closest friends and family travelled to be with us! We gave them plenty of notice, a lot of them saw the trip as an opportunity and an excuse to have a holiday.

The highlight of the day was when we kissed after we were married. We were allowed to pick a song to kiss to and as we kissed the fountains at the Bellagio danced to our song. We thought it was most appropriate to choose VIVA LAS VEGAS by Elvis for our song. The guests loved it and it is a moment both Mark and I will never forget.

Our entertainment on the night was the dancing fountains. They played all night as we mingled and enjoyed wine and food. There is no other place that comes close to Bellagio. It truly is a one-of-a-kind venue. We worked in very closely with the Primesteakhouse and we were allowed to choose whatever meals we liked down to even what bread we wanted to serve! We didn’t want our guests to have to be given something they did not like, so each guest was allowed to choose whatever meal they wanted. We had seafood platters for entrée then Filet Mignon, Magret Duck Breast or Crunchy Baked Free Range Chicken for mains then the Primesteakhouse’s famous homemade desserts and pastries for dessert.

Our honeymoon was 10 nights in Las Vegas, USA with friends and family who made the trip, then 5 nights in San Deigo, USA then 6 nights in Bora Bora, Tahiti, then 5 nights in Moorea Tahiti. We had a huge homecoming party with all the friends and family that were not able to be with us, it was such a special couple of weeks, a dream come true!
